JBT Marel is committed to supporting customers with personalized and effective service. At the same time, poultry processors are always looking for supplier support that fits their specific needs. A great way to unite these interests is the organization of dedicated service workshops. In April 2025, LDC and JBT Marel came together for a workshop themed “Service and Maintenance Solutions.” The event took place at LDC’s Les Volailles Remi Ramon site in Normandy, France. It gathered maintenance managers and directors from LDC’s largest processing sites, along with an extensive service team from JBT Marel.
Led by Christian Bagourd (LDC Group Technical Director) and Frédéric Lesage (JBT Marel Service Business Director SEMEA*), the workshop focused on JBT Marel’s solutions for service, technical support, maintenance, and spare parts.
A key part of the discussion involved equipment performance and uptime, aiming to define the best possible service solutions to maintain or implement in a processing plant. Once the topic of maintenance at LDC sites came up, attention quickly focused on JBT Marel’s Preventive Maintenance Schedule (PMS). This standard is applied to all new equipment and helps LDC’s technical team organize and structure their maintenance activities.
The experienced maintenance managers from LDC expressed their trust in a full PMS solution, to be integrated into LDC’s own Computerized Maintenance Management System.
High uptime and consistent performance
Now that LDC uses PMS on all new equipment purchased over the last few years, the company is very pleased with the solution. Christian Bagourd says, “The Preventive Maintenance Schedule has been the ideal way to take ownership of our recently purchased equipment and ramp up our maintenance. On the long run, it allows us to maintain high uptime and consistent performance of our JBT Marel equipment. We may have some special technical requirements sometimes, due to our wide range of products and breeds. But JBT Marel has been a strong support for us in finding the best equipment solutions and maintaining them, thanks to competent field service engineers and office support.”
Another important service topic is spare parts solutions. Yohann Pierre, JBT Marel Customer Care Manager, explained how JBT Marel tackles this subject. Customers are served by clear spare parts coding and a wide range of spare parts packages. For the start-up of a project, ‘recommended spare parts packages’ are available, as are ‘preventive maintenance and consumable packages’ for high performance and uptime of the equipment.
Collaborating processing sites
Cristian Bagourd talks about the service alignment of the different LDC sites. “The LDC group runs many processing sites where JBT Marel equipment is active. It is important for LDC to optimize the stock of spare parts with minimum storage time and mutualization of key parts between processing sites for similar equipment. As the recent ATLAS system installations at LDC Sable, Les Volailles Rémi Ramon and Volena La Chapelle d’Andaine show, LDC is committed to getting processing sites to collaborate on maintenance and spare parts solutions.” JBT Marel provides strong support to LDC in this matter.

“I see it as my task as a Service Business Director SEMEA, to be close to our customers and actively invest in our partnership with LDC,” says Frédéric Lesage. “For instance, third parties have recently challenged JBT Marel with the sudden end-of-life of parts. We had to quickly adapt by finding update and upgrade solutions. But then, the upgrades we provided included additional functionalities for LDC, such as connectivity for remote support.” JBT Marel offers a broad range of service solutions to meet diverse customer needs, including inspection and training service visits, as well as full preventive maintenance solutions and upgrades.
