Stronger with an expanded JBT Marel portfolio

This year we were excited to introduce how our expanded JBT Marel portfolio gives salmon processors even more ways to increase yields and address industry challenges. Combining JBT and Marel processing and packaging our portfolio now includes Schröder injectors for gentle, precise brining, Frigoscandia spiral freezers for efficient, hygienic freezing, and Proseal tray sealing equipment As JBT Marel we can supply a more complete end-of-line process.

Dedicated to gutting

A star of the show was our collaboration with Bakkafrost. The leading salmon producer located in the Faroe Islands, was on the big screen showcasing how JBT Marel’s EVi salmon gutting machine is about to revolutionise the industry. Bakkafrost has been working with us on a successful EVi protype, which will be released to market at the end of 2026. We bought in samples processed by EVi so visitors could see the results up close. We’re happy to say people were impressed.

Upgraded and proud

Meanwhile, the MS 2721 V Salmon Deheader showed off its latest retrofittable upgrades— updated safety and vision systems, increased hygiene, and improved operator capabilities. This automated deheader and tail cutting machine already stood out from the crowd, now it is even stronger for customers.

Stronger with partners

Our strategic partners Ace Aquatec and MMC First Process on the floor, proving collaboration creates better solutions for the industry. Building stronger profitability and real opportunities for our customers.

MMC First Process’s  presentation on the Hofseth project demonstrated how our partnership streamlines design and purchasing for aquaculture through further processing. Working together means offering the most comprehensive, seamlessly integrated lines possible.

Ace Aquatec demonstrated their A-HSU®  fish stunner, a more humane system that helps processors optimize salmon quality from harvest to end product while improving sustainability and source transparency. Better for fish, better for business.

The keynote from System Cleaners drew serious attention. They explained how their collaborating with JBT Marel enables low pressure cleaning solutions to be integrated directly into our equipment – like our deheaders. The result? In-process CIP cleaning that’s food safe and hygienic, without stopping your lines. No wonder everyone wanted to know more.

Service that keeps you running

Our customer-facing Service team didn’t just talk about support, they talked about results: proactive maintenance through customer service visits, comprehensive customer, and rapid response support that solves issues as fast as possible. Why? To increase uptime, boost yields, and provide equipment that delivers a lifetime of performance.

Visitors had the opportunity to explore how total solutions of equipment, software and service are stronger together, increasing uptime, scalability and differentiating JBT Marel as a leading technology partner.

Showing off with software

The AXIN room was busy with visitors ready to explore the benefits integrated JBT Marel Software, equipment, and service bring to every stage of processing. The team demonstrated how SmartBase machine connectivity increases uptime, while Digital Trace and Digital Insight support traceability and data-driven decisions.  In the auditorium, a full house attended the presentation, “How software supports reliable, scalable salmon processing.” Michael Parrish, Software Product Manager, JBT Marel, drew on his industry expertise to clearly demonstrate the role software is playing inthe future of salmon.

Seeing is believing: The Immersive room

For the first time at Salmon ShowHow, we brought an entire factory to Copenhagen—virtually. The Immersive room featured interactive 3D animations of primary, secondary and slicing processing value chains. Visitors explored how software and equipment are stronger together to make the most value from the least resources. And with interactive deep dives for specific processes, like gutting – comprehensive solutions can be discovered in detail.

It wasn’t all serious

Absorbing cutting-edge salmon processing technology all day requires a touch of levity. The door prize for photograph of the day (#SSH26), generated enthusiastic competition.

Then there was the scale competition, where both our equipment and visitors were put to the test. To create a batch made up of specific weights in the fastest time with the most accuracy. The winner, Karim El Ogbani from Ubago Group Mare, took home one of our industry leading scales.
